RETURN of Bangladesh cricketer Ashraful from a lengthy ban is certainly good news for all cricket lovers of the country. We all hope that he will soon be back on the field. He was out of cricket for the last three years and it will be interesting to see if he can stage a comeback as a glittering batsman again. Ashraful was one of the most talented cricketers of our time who had immense potential, but he took the wrong path and paid a heavy price. His brilliant innings that led to our historic victory in Cardiff in 2005 is still fresh in our minds. He scored a masterful 100 from 101 balls, which guided Bangladesh to win against the mighty Australians. Bangladesh was chasing Australia's 249 when Ashraful batted fearlessly and scored a brilliant hundred. He is now 32, and time may be against him, but we hope he will display again glimpses of his batting prowess. He is also a spinner who seldom bowls in international cricket but captures wickets as and when he is used as a bowler. We wish him all the best.
