THE number of road accidents in the country is rising alarmingly. The government is working hard to improve the situation, but accidents are taking place almost everyday.
We hope the concerned authorities should take immediate steps to punish reckless driving. It was so sad to read about the death of a medical student on North South Road  at a time when  transport drivers' association  members were protesting  against life term imprisonment to their fellow member who killed two noted personalities a few years ago. The decision to put the culprit behind bars is fully justified.Â
We demand immediate action against other defiant drivers accused of similar offences.Â
