CRICKETER Mustafizur Rahman, popularly known as Fizz, has got a shoulder injury which is going to keep him away from the game for some time. The injury was diagnosed as a case of "SLAP Tear" in an MRI report in England. He is taking treatment under a renowned surgeon in England and in this case, if primary rehabilitation efforts fail, arthroscopic surgery followed by rehabilitation will be required. According to latest techniques in sports medicine, "musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSK USG)" is done with or without MRI. Sometimes, confusion arises in MRI which is confirmed by MSK USG. We do not know if MSK USG is being done. If it is not done, it will be an incomplete assessment for Mustafiz's ailment. As an Interventional Physiatrist & Stem Cell Expert, I feel worried. In our country, the sportsman who frequently fall victim of sports injury or musculoskeletal injury, MSK USG is done for precise diagnosis. I would like to convey this message of mine to BCB Medical Team about our cricket sensation Mustafiz.
