IT is a great relief to know that the United Nations Secretary General has taken an initiative to quell the rising tension between two bitter neighbours India and Pakistan. War is not a solution to solve a crisis, it only adds to the sufferings of the people living in this region. The government of India and Pakistan should resolve issues like Kashmir across the table. The UN Secretary General can help them reach an understanding. The bloodshed in Kashmir must stop. Whatever we say to the contrary, we cannot remain isolated in the world. We need each others' help to make this world a better place to live in.
Some vested quarters are trying to create a rift between the two nations and the people of these two countries must remain alert against those elements. India and Pakistan share a common culture and heritage and they have more similarities than differences. They must not fight with each other and should step up cooperation and good will between them to their mutual benefit.
