FOOD adulteration is rampant in our country. Unscrupulous people add chemicals to edible items to increase their weights. Sand, chalk-powder, crushed rocks, seeds of similar crops, bricks powder, wood powder etc are mixed with food grains. Textile dyes are used instead of dyes for food stuff as they are cheap and make the food items more attractive for the buyers. A social awareness should be created about food adulteration so that we can save the society from this deadly menace. Side by side, the law enforcers should clamp down on people involved in the dangerous and murky trade.
