FAST food has become widely popular in our country and around the world. We see urban people eating fast food day in day out avoiding normal menu ignoring its harmful effects on our health. Fast food is also known as junk food because it contains high level of calories, forms sugar to fat and salt and has very little protein, vitamins and minerals. We are eating fast food regularly and also encourage our children to do the same. I know many children who do not eat proper meals, instead they are more inclined to taking rich food, cold drinks and fast foods every day.
We should not do so as our traditional local foods were developed over the centuries and because they contain elements that suit us and our climate, they continue to be taken through generations. We should advise our children to take our native foods to keep themselves spirited and in proper shape. If we cook healthy foods at home and shun so-called fast foods, we can create a healthy eating habit. Good diet is very important for our well-being and we must follow it. We can opt for fast foods occasionally. In a research, it has been found those who eat fast food twice a week have more chances to develop diabetes. We also see a great number of obese children in our city and so it is high time we chose a healthy diet.
