JAHANGIRNAGAR University (JU) was established in late sixties of the last century. Soon after its establishment the university was widely acclaimed for quality education in Bangladesh. Most of the graduates from JU are doing well in different working arenas of the country. As it has huge campus, there is ample scope for its expansion. A massive expansion of the JU is necessary to impart quality technical education that Bangladesh will need in the years to come. Many engineers of foreign countries are serving in Bangladesh whereas a huge number of our engineers are either unemployed or underemployed. Besides, there are not enough seats in public universities to study in other disciplines also.
I would like to request the authorities concerned to address the challenge seriously and undertake a programme for expansion of JU as soon as possible.
