OFFICE environment is far different from that of an educational institution. Most students want a good employment after graduating in different disciplines from different educational institutions. When the newly graduating students enter an office with a job, it is a different world from where he or she has spent his or her academic life. Before entering a job, s/he expected that things would be different. They indeed are, but office politics are the same everywhere. Newly appointed employees do not know how to deal with the situation. Some people want to quit the job but due to circumstantial reasons they cannot. They try to adjust with the situation and gradually they reshape themselves to cope with the situation. But sometimes office politics lead to manipulation of meritorious employees, which is unfortunate.
We cannot apply what we learn from our educational institutions in our working career. A newly appointed graduate finds corporate politics in office a difficult area to comprehend. We see a lot of people switching their jobs from one office to another sometimes not for pay packages but for unhealthy corporate politics. An organisation should nurture its employees properly on the basis of their strengths and weaknesses and get the best out of them. An employee should be motivated in different ways. An organization should not disregard its employees and should focus more on the newly employed ones. Due to adverse situation an employee may be demotivated, which will lead to low efficiency and therefore low productivity. I think, an organisation should do proper justice to all employees which should be unique for everyone. They should have proper remuneration and other benefits and facilities distributed according to their merits and performances. Newly graduated employees will be in a position to put in their best efforts when they get positive working environment. An organisation should follow proper human resource principles and regulations and should not do anything that fails to dispense justice. This will obviously lead to less productivity for him as well as for the organisation itself. Organisations should choose right persons for the right places so that they get a better output both in short and long run. Rightly selected employees could lead an organisation in the right direction which would be ultimately good for every stakeholder. Right persons are assets for an organisation. They always think positively and work for the growth and development of the organisation. Organisations should take good care of their employees and ensure that they are getting the right treatment in terms of both money and behaviour. They should be particularly careful about their treatment towards newly recruited manpower and make sure that they get the right atmosphere to work and socialise with other employees. Positive working environment leads to greater productivity and thus ensure greater profit for an organisation.
