THE Indian High Commission is providing one year multiple entry visa for Bangladeshi nationals as part of a special Eid campaign and it has drawn a huge response from the people of Bangladesh who were facing enormous problems in getting an Indian visa. I convey my sincere thanks to the Indian HC for taking such a praiseworthy step and making Indian visa easier for the Bangladeshi tourists.
Every year, thousands of Bangladeshi people visit India for various purposes including medical treatment and during the Eid festivals the number goes up dramatically. Besides, thousands of our students are studying in India. Bangladesh and India always shared an excellent relationship and these two friendly countries can benefit by extending more cooperation among themselves. I often like to go to India for a visit, but when I think about the visa hassle, I just restrain myself.
Bangladeshis are among the top foreign visitors to India. There are eleven Indian visa application centers in Bangladesh. I hope in the coming days the Indian government will make visa easier for Bangladeshi citizens and consolidate the bond of friendship between citizens of the two countries.
