Education and business of education

Education and business of education

There are many private schools, colleges and universities in Bangladesh that earn money (return on investment) in the process of imparting higher education. This is more prevalent among the English-medium teaching institutions.
To create more awareness about the affairs of cash flow-based (profit related) private educational institutions in both urban and rural areas in Bangladesh, all dailies should publish write-ups on education. In contrast many teachers of private institutions, both in urban and rural areas complain of being poorly paid and are often forced to take up private tuition to supplement their merge salaries. This could be important so that both the readers and concerned authorities are aware of the prevailing situation and can adopt measures to contain it.
Our teachers, are by and large, underpaid. This should be rectified, so that all teachers across the country can concentrate harder to build our children as worthy citizens of the country. This should to be a national issue and is in overall interest of the nation. Private educational sector needs to be uplifted, and the teachers should be paid more for their important task which is so closely linked with the development of the country's future generations. I am sure, that most newspaper readers will appreciate the idea. Different dailies should conduct a joint study on this important issue and publish their findings and recommendations thereof.
