ELECTRONIC cigarette (e-cigarettes, e-cigs) is a power-driven device aimed to discharge nicotine with flavoured vapours. It is marketed as a substitute for normal cigarettes. e-Cigarettes contain high levels of drugs such as yaba, heroin and other poisonous narcotics. It is widely considered that extensive use of e-Cigarettes will make the customers used to nicotine. The adverse effects of e-Cigarettes are irritation, blurry vision, cough, chest pain, blood pressure and vomiting etc. e-Cigarettes are progressively becoming popular among the teenagers of the country who are adopting the style of the West. e-Cigarette is now sold across the country.
It is available in a wide range of flavours not only at shopping malls, but also in road side small cigarette shops. Easy availability of this electronic cigarette is one of the reasons behind its popularity among the teenagers. Most of these teenagers are non-smoking juveniles. It is a matter of great concern that non-smoking youths are getting addicted to this and stepping on to the path of a deadly habit. To some, it is also considered a means to give up smoking. Concerned guardians are in a state of ignorance regarding the increasing prevalence of this new brand of drugs. Scientists are also in confusion about whether e-Cigarettes are more dangerous than traditional cigarettes. The authorities concerned should be more watchful and prudent about this new electronic device.
