IT is good to know that anti-adulteration drive is on and it gives us the assurance that we can have pure and unadulterated foods in the market. Nowadays, people are normally afraid of buying fruits from the market as most fruits are allegedly treated with formalin, a chemical that seriously harms human body. No religion permits any kind of adulteration in any commodity consumed by man, particularly food items or any activities which are harmful for human being.
Unfortunately we see around us a number of various life threatening diseases spreading in our country due to food adulteration which is rampant. The mobile courts along with Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution (BSTI) are working together to drive out impure and adulterated foodstuffs from markets. Happily, supply of adulterated food items in the market is declining. This is happening because of growing awareness among the people. We hope the government will continue its campaign against adulteration and raise the level of awareness among people so that war on adulteration takes the shape of a social campaign. Foods keep us alive and good and pure foods provide us with the shield against various diseases and make our body stronger. Let us continue to fight a resolute war against all types of food adulteration in the country.
