SHAHANAJ Parvin, a teacher of Sherpur Upazila Model Government Primary School in Borgra, has been nominated for the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize 2017, the most prestigious award for teachers in the world. She performed impeccably in her profession and opened a new dimension in the teaching profession. In Bangladesh, many students drop out from primary school because of family obligations and economic conditions. She came forward to address the situation and established Shishu Kallan Primary School with a mission to enlighten the underprivileged street children and handicapped children. She emphasised on the use of technology and multimedia applications in education system. Like The Varkey Foundation she believes that every child deserves a vibrant, stimulating learning environment that awakens and supports their full potential.
