Breakfast is the first meal of the day, most often eaten in the morning before undertaking the day's work. The word literally refers to breaking the fasting period of the prior night.
There are many among us who skip breakfast to avoid being late in attending office. We somehow manage to forget that by doing so we actually miss the morning meal, which is the most important meal of the day. Skipping breakfast means spending at least half the day without proper food. A good breakfast can fuel our energy level and help us to be more energetic, attentive and productive. On the other hand, when we miss a breakfast we tend to overeat in later part of the day. So a proper and healthy breakfast can help working people to make efficient use of working hours.
Again there are some people who have healthy breakfast to have a little more time to sleep. Sound sleep and a healthy breakfast are closely interlinked and therefore should not be compromised on any account. Both are equally important. We should eat good breakfast everyday and encourage our children to do the same. Breakfast makes up for the energy spent on the previous day. If we start a day without breakfast it is like running a car with an empty fuel tank. As an empty fuel tank cannot make a car roll, an empty stomach also cannot make human beings move.
