About 0.3m citizens received smart land services in eight months

About 300,000 people have received land-related services through the helpline 'Citizen Land Service 24/7' by calling 16122 in the first eight months of this year.

Meanwhile, about 12,000 messages and comments have been answered on the Facebook page of the national land service.

A review by the Ministry of Land revealed the information, according to a press release issued Saturday.

The helpline and the Facebook page of the national land service have significantly reduced the cost and suffering of the people. Abuse of power and corruption by unscrupulous government officials have come down too.

The Ministry of Land, with Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury at the helm, is working to implement one of the objectives of digitalisation of land management: ‘Citizens to get land services without going to the land office and no one should visit land offices except for compulsory requirements.

Popular services of ‘Citizen Land Service 24/7’, operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Land, include: Receiving Records of Rights (ROR/Khatiyan/Porcha) and land maps by post at home, Paying ROR and Mutation fees and land development tax from anywhere, Mutation application, queries on land laws and regulations and receiving miscellaneous complaints, etc.

The helpline, inaugurated by Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury on January 05, also provides information on Land Acquisition, Mutation, Land Development Tax, Khas Land Settlement, Vested Property, Abandoned Property, Land Survey & Record Room, Jal-Mahal (Water bodies), Balu-Mahal (sand quarries), Cha-Bagan (Tea Estate), Haat-Bazar (Market) Management, etc, the press release added.
