A National Consultative Workshop on “Comprehensive Responses to Trafficking in Persons” will be held on September 15 in Dhaka.
Md. Shahidul Haque, Foreign Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Md. Abu Bakar Siddique, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Nahida Sobhan, Director General of UN in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Brent Christensen, Political/Economic Counselor, U.S Embassy, Eric Opanga, Resident Legal Advisor, US Department of Justice, Ms. Mia Seppo, UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh, Giorgi Gigauri, Chief of Mission, IOM Bangladesh, Mr. A K M Masud Ali, Executive Director, INCIDIN and Jonathan Martens, Senior Migrant Protection Specialist, IOM will address the event.
The consultative workshop will be held with the Government of Bangladesh and the main stakeholders from the international community to develop a strategy on how the UN, donors, and NGOs can best support the GoB in its effort to combat human trafficking.
