Vietnam’s retail sales, service revenues up 11.6 pc in nine months

Vietnam's total goods retail sales and consumer service revenues rose 11.6 per cent year-on-year between January and September to roughly 3,635 trillion Vietnamese dong (158 billion US dollars), according to the country's General Statistics Office on Monday.

Specifically, Vietnam's goods retail sales stood at over 2,762 trillion Vietnamese dong (120.1 billion US dollars), up 12.6 per cent, with sales of food and foodstuffs growing 15.4 per cent, home appliances growing 13 per cent, garments growing 12 per cent, and vehicles growing 10.2 per cent.

In the nine-month period, restaurant and accommodation revenues reached 434.7 trillion Vietnamese dong (18.9 billion US dollars), up 9.6 per cent, and tourism revenues stood at 33.5 trillion Vietnamese dong (nearly 1.5 billion US dollars), up 12 per cent, Xinhua reported citing the office.

In 2018, Vietnam's total goods retail sales and consumer service revenues rose 11.7 per cent year-on-year to nearly 4,396 trillion Vietnamese dong (191.1 billion US dollars).

Specifically, its goods retail sales surged 12.4 per cent to over 3,306 trillion Vietnamese dong (143.7 billion US dollars).
