SM Nurul Hoque, a senior business leader, has been re-elected as chairman of Research for Education and Management Academy (REMA) Trust.
The REMA Trust has been running Chittagong Laboratory School, Chittagong Laboratory College and REMA Teacher’s Training College for the last 21 years.
Mr Hoque is the current President of the Bangladesh Myanmar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI). He also represented Bangladesh – Myanmar Joint Trade Commission meetings held in Bangladesh and Myanmar and contributed in some important and sensitive bilateral issues, according to a media release.
As the chair, he organised Chittagong International Trade Fair (CITF) 2001 for CCCI.
He was selected as CIP (Commercially Important Person) in 2011 and was awarded in 2012 for his superb contribution in export business of Bangladesh.
Mr Hoque has long association with different trade bodies in Bangladesh and has been responsible for materialising many important beneficial issues.
He served Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) as Senior Vice President, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) as First Vice President, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) as Director, SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SAARC CCI) as Executive Committee Member.
He also served as chairman of the Election Board of Real Estate Housing Associations of Bangladesh (REHAB).
An election was held on Sunday at REMA Bhavan, Chawkbazar, Chattogram for the term of 2020-2022 to elect the executive committee members of REMA Trust.
The other elected members are Golam Hossain, Vice Chairman; Professor Bahar Uddin Md Zubair, Secretary; Engr Rafiqul Islam, Treasurer; EC members include Principal Nurul Amin, Advocate Md Ibrahim, Professor Dr A M M Ehteshamul Haque, Md Zahirul Alam, and Principal Habib Rahmat Ullah.
