Hundreds of people thronged Kamalapur and four other railway stations in Dhaka on Wednesday to purchase train tickets in advance for travelling during the Eid-ul-Fitr.
Tickets for May 31 are being sold on the first day.
This year, the crowd is smaller compared to previous years, thanks to the government's decision to sell tickets at five stations.
But even so, many people said they had been standing in queue since Tuesday midnight and early Wednesday to buy their desired tickets.
Tickets can be purchased through mobile apps too. A number of people said that they failed to purchase tickets because of technical issues. Railway officials were not immediately available for comments when contacted by UNB.
