Ride-sharing Ezzyr service in Dhaka from Dec 1

A local IT company is going to launch both car and motorbike ride services through its new mobile app called 'Ezzyr' on December 1.

The opening manifests the growing popularity of mobile app-based ride-sharing services to bring more relief for the city commuters in Dhaka.
City-dwellers of Narayanganj, Gazipur and Savar will also be able to enjoy the app-based transport service as the company Innovadeus Pvt. Ltd. has a plan to make Ezzyr services available there by January next year.
A Director of Innovadeus, Md. Kamrul Hasan Emon came up with the announcement at a press conference at a city hotel on Sunday.

He said commuters in Dhaka will be able to avail of both car and motorbike ride services on call through new mobile app Ezzyr, which is already downloadable from Google play store.

"We're going to launch Ezzyr services in the city on December 1. Our services will surely be available in at least five areas-- Uttara, Dhanmondi, Baridhara, Gulshan and Banani--from the day one," he said.

"We've already registered 1,050 private cars and 1,200 motorbikes for providing the services. The drivers have also been registered and trained for the service to be made available for Dhaka people on December 1," Emon added.

According to a UNB report, he said they will launch the Ezzyr vehicle services in Narayanganj, Gazipur and Savar by January 2018. "We've already started doing groundwork in Narayanganj, Gazipur and Savar for opening the services."

The company also has a plan to take the combined services of car and motorbike rides to Chittagong and Sylhet by mid-2018, the Innovadeus director said.

Besides, he said, one will be able to pre-book cars, through this app, for long-route tours. The pre-reservation services will be available from early next year.

About the opposition of CNG-run auto-rickshaws owners' to the app-based ride services, Emon said, "We're ready to bring CNG-run auto-rickshaws under our ride-sharing app, if the vehicle owners show their interest in it."

Another Director of Innovadeus Rana Ahmed said the Ezzyr app will be very user-friendly one. "I hope the users will feel comfortable using the application," he said.

Ezzyr's entry into the market comes at a time when people in Dhaka have already started taking benefits of such app-based transport services like Uber, Pathao, Amar Ride, Bahon, MUV and Chalo.

With their hassle-free round-the-clock services, the both local and international ride-sharing companies have brought some sort of relief to city commuters, mainly for the middle-class ones.

The app-based transport ride-sharing service was first introduced here by Uber in Dhaka in November, 2016.
