Remittance inflow marked a rise through bKash ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of the country. In the first 15 days of Ramadan, the country has received remittance through bKash, almost equal to the amount of April of this year.
According to bKash, expatriates have sent in remittance worth more than Tk 100 million through bKash in the first 15 days of this holy month, whereas the remittance of April was slightly more than Tk 120 million. Even in March, the amount was almost the same as April.
According to Bangladesh Bank, the total amount of remittance through Mobile Financial Services was slightly more than Tk 140 milion.
Compared to remittance through bKash in one month, this 15 days remittance is almost two-fold. Concerned persons are expecting that this rate will increase even more till Eid-ul-fitr.
Bangladeshi Expatriates from Malaysia, UAE, South Korea, Singapore, Oman, Italy; even from UK and US are sending money to their near and dear ones through their banking channels to bKash.
Shamsuddin Haider Dalim, Head of Corporate Communications of bKash said in this regard, “Remittance sent through bKash is very much convenient for customers to cash-out from any agent point. Being easy, fast, safe and valid, bKash is thriving to check the Hundi business. As a result, it is strengthening the reserve of our foreign currency.”
On the occasion of holy Ramadan & Eid, bKash is offering 1.85 per cent bonus on the remittance amount received through bKash. So the receivers would enjoy the cash out from agents without charge.
This promotional offer will be applicable for maximum five times transaction during the campaign. The maximum bonus amount will be Tk 300 for an account a day and maximum Tk 1500 during the campaign period. The campaign started on May 6 which will continue till June 10 next.
