REHAB arranges Housing Fair in Sydney

A three-day expo titled ‘REHAB Housing Fair Sydney-2018’, kicked off on Saturday in Australia aiming to help promote the sector among non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs).

Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) organised second edition of the fair in Sydney’s Orion Centre, a statement said.

Senior Vice-President of REHAB Nurun Nabi Chowdhury (Shaon) inaugurated the fair, while Commercial Consular of Bangladesh High Commission in Australia Md Shafiur Rahman, President of Australia Bangladesh Business Council Asif Kawnine, and REHAB fair standing committee chairman Md. Shakil Kamal Chowdhury spoke at the inaugural ceremony, among others.

Addressing the ceremony, Nurun Nabi Chowdhury said housing facilities for a family is not only a place for living but also a symbol of security.

“Wherever a Bangladeshi lives in, his root lies in Bangladesh,” he said adding that: “Many of them living in other countries are likely to return to Bangladesh in future.”

Owning a permanent residence in Bangladesh, would help facilitate a NRB’s life whenever he returns to the country of origin, he said.

Mr Chowdhury expressed hope that the fair would be a crucial platform for the NRBs to choose apartments or plot according to their interests.

The statement said, the fair remains open for the visitors without entry fee and parking facilities.

A good number of NRBs attended the ceremony.

REHAB has been organising such fair in the country since 2001 and in several cities abroad since 2004.
