CHATTOGRAM: Bangladesh Railway (BR) Eastern Zone took a decision not to sell any tickets to the passengers from abroad within 15 days of their return. Inter-district train tickets would not be sold to the passengers who returned from foreign countries at the Chattogram Railway Station effective from Wednesday.

BR Eastern Zone is implementing the decision of the headquarters over the coronavirus scare. Besides, BR has took a step to raise the passengers' awareness through distribution of leaflets, providing hand wash at the toilets of trains, etc.

On the other hand, Chattogram University (CU) authorities sent a teacher of Applied Chemistry Department to Home Quarantine. Professor Dr Komol Dey returned from Italy after completing his PhD recently. He joined his department after returning to Bangladesh without any test. As a result, CU authorities sent Dr Komol Dey to home quarantine.

Dr Abu Tayeb, Chief Medical Officer of CU Medical centre, said, "Dr Komol Dey joined the CU on March 8 last after returning from Italy without completing any test for coronavirus. We have sent him to home quarantine for two weeks. If the symptoms of coronavirus are not found within next two weeks, he can join again his department. It is done for the sake of alertness to coronavirus."
