A total of 23,381 auto-rickshaws were registered with Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) across the country in the first 10 months of the current calendar year.
Of them, 6,789 got registration during January-October 2019 in Dhaka, according to the transport regulator.
A total of 21,638 auto-rickshaws were registered alone in 2018 while it was 9,168 in 2017, the BRTA data showed.
