A total of 16,368 auto rickshaws were registered across the country from January to June of this calendar year, as per official data.
Of them, 6,301 got registered in Dhaka, according to Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
The transport regulator data showed that a total of 21,638 auto rickshaws were registered alone in 2018 while the number was 9,168 in 2017.
