Mr. Latifur Rahman has been re-elected as Chairman of National Housing Finance And Investments Limited at its 209th Meeting of the Board held recently for further 2 years, said a statement.
Mr. Rahman, an eminent businessman in the country, is the Chairman and CEO of Transcom Group whose business includes Beverage, Electrical & Electronics Products, pharmaceuticals, Fast Food, snacks and breakfast cereals, print media, FM Radio and tea plantations. Group companies include, Transcom Beverages, Transcom Electronics, Eskayef Pharmaceuticals, Transcom Foods, Transcom Distribution Company, Transcom Consumer Product and Mediastar. Major stakeholders in Bank, Leasing & Insurance. He is sponsor Director of National Housing Finance.
Mr. Rahman is Member of the Executive Board of ICC-Paris; Vice President of ICC-Bangladesh; Member, Governing Body of BRAC. He was Member of Bangladesh Better Business Forum and Advisory Committee on WTO.
Mr. Rahman was president of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industry for seven terms, and also a former President of Bangladesh Employers' Federation and Member, Executive Committee, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI), Bangladesh Jute Mills Association and Bangladesh Tea Association. He was also Chairman, Bangladesh Government's Trade body Reforms Committee. He was Member of the Executive Board of Bangladesh Bank.
Mr. Rahman is an Honouree of "Oslo Business for Peace Award 2012" and was awarded Business Executive of the Year 2001 by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh.
