The number of registered motorised vehicles in Dhaka witnessed a fall in 2019 compared to that of 2018, official data showed.
A total of 158,417 such vehicles received registration from Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) in 2019 while the number was 171,349 in the year before, the transport regulator data showed.
Of the vehicles, motorcycles and auto tempos respectively saw the highest and lowest number of registration during the period under review, the BRTA data found.
A total of 99,256 motorcycles were registered in 2019 while not a single auto tempo was registered in that year, the data revealed.
