The father of modern marketing, Prof Philip Kotler, will visit Bangladesh along with his team next month (March).
He will attend the World Marketing Summit (WMS) scheduled to be held on March 28 at a city hotel. Kotler Impact Inc will organise the summit to be facilitated by Northern University Bangladesh.
The independent global organisation, headquartered in Toronto, Canada, is committed to "Creating a Better World through Marketing" and thereby alleviating poverty, says a press release.
The WMS aims to improve the state of the world by engaging global leaders and entrepreneurs to create a poverty-free world through discussion on the most pressing issues faced by the world, including marketing, business and economics, impacting poverty, health and the environment.
Chairman of Northern University Bangladesh Trust Prof Dr Abu Yousuf Md Abdullah at a press conference in the city on Wednesday said that, in the summit, the global leaders and industry experts will tackle the role of the new concepts of marketing, which include neuromarketing, socialpreneurship, and destructive marketing.
He said international speakers like Prof Philip Kotler, Prof Dr Marc Oliver Opresnik, Prof Luiz Moutinho, and Dr Sadia Kibria will attend the summit.
In the programme, Prof Kotler will handover awards to most outstanding Bangladeshi business leaders who made significant contribution in the fields of marketing and management.
Twenty eight awards will be conferred under four categories: lifetime achievement, master-class achievers, iconic achiever and industrial achievers. The last date for submission of nominations is on February 25.
Finance Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal, Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen, Prime Minister's Economic Affairs Adviser Dr Mashiur Rahman, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun and Prime Minister's Private Sector, Industry and Investment Adviser Salman Fazlur Rahman are expected to attend the summit.
