Mango harvesting in Rajshahi begins from May 15

Mango harvesting in Rajshahi will start from May 15 in the current season of the delicious fruit.

The decision was taken at a meeting related to mango harvesting, preservation and marketing held at the conference hall of deputy commissioner in Rajshahi on Sunday, reports BSS.

According to the decision, the farmers can pluck indigenous varieties from May 15, Gopalbogh from May 20, Khirshapat from May 28, Lakhna from May 25, Langra from June 5, Amropaly from June 16, Fazly and Surma Fazly from June 16 and Ashwina from July 1.

Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi SM Abdul Kader urged all concerned to follow the time-frame for the sake of public interests.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Ruhul Amin, Deputy Director of Department of Agriculture Extension Shamsul Haque, Upazila Chairmen Layeb Uddin Lavlu and Fakhrul Islam also addressed the meeting.

In addition to all Upazila Chairmen and Upazila Nirbahi Officers, large number of mango farmers and traders joined the meeting.
