Industrial term loan disbursement declined in the past year, reflecting a bit slowdown in its demand in the country.
Latest statistics of the central bank showed that the annual disbursement of the industrial term loan stood at Tk 631.81 billion in 2017, as against Tk 676.39 billion in the previous year.
That means the industrial term loan went down by 6.60 per cent within a year.
Private commercial banks disbursed around 90 per cent of the total industrial term loan.
Earlier in 2015, banks and financial institutions disbursed some Tk 588.46 billion.
Though there was a decline in the disbursement of the industrial term loan in the last year, its recovery improved significantly.
The central bank data showed that the recovery of the previously disbursed term loan in different industries increased by 17.22 per cent in 2017 to Tk 601.44 billion from Tk 513.08 billion in 2016.
