The inauguration ceremony of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bangladesh was successfully held at Le Meridien Dhaka recently.
Senator Sarah Kamal was presented with the President’s Chain by the 2019 National President, Irfan Islam and former National Presidents of JCI Bangladesh at the ceremony on Friday.
Ms Kamal will preside as National President of JCI Bangladesh for the year 2020, according to a media release.
Nasrul Hamid, MP, State Minister of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources attended the occasion as the Chief Guest while the Special Guest of the event was Sheikh Fazle Fahim, President, FBCCI.
The Guest of Honour was Earl R Miller, US Ambassador to Bangladesh.
The accomplishments of the past year by different members in JCI were recognised by several awards presented to them in the ceremony.
Around 300 guests including delegates from different JCI Chapters around the world were also present at the event.
From JCI Japan - Issho Kajiwara, Vice President; Tomoyuku Hayashi, Chairman, Asia Establishment; Tsuguyuki Karahashi, Vice Chairman, Asia Establishment attended the function.
Guests from JCI Hong Kong included Ezgine Chong, National Global Goals Director; Tiffany Leung, National Publication Director.
From JCI India- Ravi Shankar, Advisor and JCI Indonesia, National President and Immediate Past President, Alexander Tio attended the event, the release added.
From JCI Bangladesh- 2020 National President, Sarah Kamal; Immediate Past President, Irfan Islam; Executive Vice Presidents, Arman A Khan and Sakib Ahmed; Secretary General, Ismat Jahan; General Legal Counsel, Erfan Haque and Treasurer, Salehin F Nahiyan attended the programme along with other Vice Presidents, National Directors, Local Presidents and JCI members.
