Haltrip becomes title sponsor for Monitor Airline of the Year 2019

Leading online travel agency Haltrip is to support Monitor Airline of the Year 2019, as the event's title sponsor. The frequent flyers’ opinion poll is being organised by The Bangladesh Monitor, a premier English fortnightly on travel trade.

Kazi Wahidul Alam, editor, The Bangladesh Monitor and Tajbir Hasan, managing director, Haltrip signed an agreement to this effect on Monday at the Monitor head office in the capital, says a press release received on Thursday.

“We hope that the collaboration with the leading OTA of the country Haltrip will allow us to take this event further ahead. The main purpose of the event is to appreciate the airline for their services and to inspire them to enhance it further,” said Kazi Wahidul Alam, editor, The Bangladesh Monitor.

Frequent flyers, who made at least four air trips during 2019 will be eligible to take part in the poll. Awards will be given in 16 categories to both national and international airlines, the release added.

“We are happy to be a part of this event. It is a great platform to work with the key people of the market. The industry is yet to be structured. Such a platform is highly essential, which connect the airlines, travel agencies and customers. It allows all concerned to work together in solving the key issues of the aviation industry,” said Tajbir Hasan, managing director, Haltrip.

Results of the opinion poll will be announced at a gala award ceremony to be held sometime in December this year. Frequent flyers can visit www.bangladeshmonitor.com/poll and cast their votes for their favourite airlines during the period starting from the first week of October until November 15, 2019.  

Syed Alamgir Haider, general manager, Md Noor Islam, head of sales and marketing, Pijush Bagchi, manager from The Bangladesh Monitor and Md Al Amin, manager – expansion, business development, Md Riajul Hassan, manager – operations, A K M Arifuzzaman, manager, holidays, and Shaila Akhter Toma, executive, HR and admin from Haltrip were also present on the occasion.
