Bangladesh’s Department of Explosives will provide a total of 18 types of services online.
The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, with which the department is attached, announced this in a handout on Saturday.
To provide the services online, a workshop was also launched virtually the same day. State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid attended the event as chief guest.
Among the explosives department services to be provided online are issuance of no objection certificates for importing flammable chemicals related to petroleum; licences for importing cylinder and cylinder valves; permits for importing flammable and hazardous substances, and gas tanks; and licences and permits for importing flammable chemicals of explosives used in the exploration of mineral resources, according to the handout.
The Department of Explosives will have the administrative authority for raising questions relating to commercial explosives, flammables and unfired pressure vessels, the handout notes.
Dhaka’s Segunbagicha houses a laboratory which provides testing facilities for explosives and different materials which fall under the purview of the acts and the rules administered by the Department of Explosives.
