Curtain falls on REHAB Fair today

The REHAB housing fair, which is going to conclude today (Sunday), drew a huge crowd on Saturday - a weekend.

Potential customers started visiting the fair at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Dhaka's Sher e Bangla Nagar area from Saturday morning, to choose flats as per their necessity and affordability.

The Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) has organised the 22nd edition of the fair, a statement said.

Visitors coming to the fair were showing interests in comparatively smaller flats in Mirpur and Uttara regions.

"Many customers are showing an inclination for the apartments in Uttara and Mirpur areas since the commencement of metro rail communication will facilitate their movement to and from other parts of the city," REHAB statement said.

In addition to the in-person visitors, many non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) also contacted the realtors using digital platforms and inquired about the flats.

Participating organisations were offering discounts worth up to Tk 1.0 million against on-the-spot booking in the fair. Some 127 entities took part in the event.

REHAB Vice President Kamal Mahmud said real estate companies are showcasing flats and plots of different sizes and offering a comparatively lower rate.

"The fair this year is a special opportunity for the customers to buy flats as participating companies are offering discounts and other gifts," he added.

The largest trade show of the real estate sector will conclude today at 2.00pm, instead of 9.00pm as announced earlier, due to security issues ahead of a state event to be held at the same venue, the organisers said.
