Currently there are 235 valid money changers operating in the country. Bangladesh Bank has recently updated the list of those entities having valid licenses.
According to the central bank list, updated on May 30 this year, there are 18 valid money changers in Chattogram division, and 15 in Sylhet and 13 in Khulna.
Moreover, there are six in Rajshahi division, four each in Bogra and Rangpur divisions and two in Borishal division.
The rest of the valid money changers, or 173, are situated in Dhaka division alone.
