In fact, motorcycles are gradually turning to a regular transport for the daily commuters in Dhaka as well as other parts of the country.

At the same time, unruliness of motorcycle drivers is also growing. Taking wrong sides of the streets and running in the footpaths are two very common pictures.

Motorcycle drivers are also the most violators of the traffic rules in the country. For instance, on August 29, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Traffic) filed 2,546 cases against different vehicles for violating traffic rules. Of these 646 or one-fourth cases were lodged against the motorcycles.
