China Harbour donates corona prevention and diagnostic kits

China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC), a state owned company of China has come forward to help Bangladesh in its fight against coronavirus.

The company has donated 3,000 coronavirus detection kits, 3,000 PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment) and 20,000 surgical masks for use in different hospitals, said a press release. 

Fu Xiuquan, managing director of CHEC Bangladesh formally handed over the diagnostic kits and prevention materials to Brigadier General Mohammad Shahidullah, director, Central Medical Stores Depot (CMSD) at his office in the city.

Habibur Rahman, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was present during the occasion among others.

"We in China recently have experienced the havoc of coronavirus and we have been able to fight it back successfully. Now we are very happy to stand beside our Bangladeshi friends at this crucial moment in its fight against this deadly virus. This small gesture is a symbol of our commitment to the country, where we have been functioning for the last three decades", said Fu Xiuquan.

"We hope to continue our support in the days to come. China Harbour not only wants to be the tested and trusted partner of Bangladesh in its socio-economic development but also in its fight against any odds."

CHEC has been operating in Bangladesh for the last 30 years. Currently it has nine ongoing projects in the country.
