Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) on Wednesday launched an air-conditioned (AC) bus service on Dhaka-Narayanganj route in a bid to offer comfortable journey to commuters.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated the luxury bus service in a ceremony at capital's Gulistan intersection.
Initially, a total of 15 AC buses of the state-owned transport corporation will ply on the route every day.
The buses will run from Bangabandhu National Stadium to Narayanganj's Mandalpara via Hanif Flyover-Signboard-Chashara. The highest fare of the bus is set at Tk 55.
The BRTC has so far added a total of 179 out of 600 buses in its fleet under the second Indian Line of Credit (LoC).
