The government has permitted the owners of industrial units to renew their boiler operation until June without paying any late fee.

Office of the Chief Inspector of Boilers under Industries Ministry through an office notice made an announcement to facilitate production of the industries that have been hit hard due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

From now, the industrial units can renew their boiler operation until June without paying late fee.

“The deadline of the boiler operation, scheduled to be expired between March and May, can be renewed by paying regular fee by June next,” it reads.

According to the law, each boiler has to take renewal certificate annually. Some 12,2636 boilers are registered with the Office of the Chief Inspector of Boilers, it said.

Some 542 boilers were scheduled to take renewal certificates in May while 370 were renewed, it said.

About 613 and 520 certificates are scheduled to be renewed in April and May respectively, it added.
