Bangladesh Expo begins in Nepal

The Fourth Bangladesh Expo 2018 started at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu of Nepal from Friday.

The five-day trade fair will continue until February 27 aiming to promote the existing excellent trade and business relations between Bangladesh and Nepal.

The Bangladesh embassy in Nepal is organising such event for last four years. This event is the second edition of Nepal-Bangladesh Business Forum.

This year event management company U Turn, Bangladesh is assisting the embassy in collaboration of Synthesis Exhibitions and Events Pvt Ltd of Nepal to organise the expo.

The organisers also have an aim to familiarise the Nepalese entrepreneurs and consumers to the wide variety of products that are being produced and exported globally by Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal Mashfee Binte Shams recently said this is an opportunity for the Bangladesh entrepreneurs to become familiar with the big market of Nepal.

Art works of 24 renowned artists from Bangladesh will be presented in an exhibition showcasing the cultural traditions of Bangladesh.

Some Nepalese exporters will also showcase their products at the event with to promote Nepalese exports to Bangladesh.

A platform will also be created for entrepreneurs of the two countries to  exchange of information and ideas and provide an opportunity to explore B-2-B linkages.

A seminar on bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Nepal is scheduled to be held on February 24 at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Recently, Bangladesh Embassy in Nepal arranged a press conference in Kathamandu reporters' club, said a press release.

Bangladesh envoy Nepal Mashfee Binte Shams, event management company U Turn CEO Cyrus Kamrul, Nepal's Synthesis Exhibitions and Events Managing Director Rakesh Mahtow, Bangladesh Artist Group Secretary Saiful Islam were present at the press briefing, among others.

Bangladesh Prime Minister's Information Affairs Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury will present at the seminar.

Sources said, the event will showcase building and construction materials, furniture, diversified jute products, readymade garments, sarees, ladies dress, plastic products, cosmetics, ceramics and tiles, leather products, textiles, footwear, electronics and appliances, handicrafts, generators and machineries, processed food, IT solutions, education institutions, consumer products, batteries, bathroom fittings, motorcycle, jewellery etc.
