Md. Ataur Rahman Prodhan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of Sonali Bank Limited has been elected Chairman of Primary Dealers Bangladesh Limited (PDBL).
He was elected PDBL chairman during the 11th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Sonali Bank Ltd's head office in the capital on Wednesday, says a statement.
Prodhan, the Chairman of PDBL and CEO & MD of the state-owned commercial bank, chaired the AGM. Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO of Mutual Trust Bank, was elected Vice Chairman of the PDBL, by the members of the board of directors.
The audited financial statements of PDBL for the year ended December 31, 2018, were placed at the meeting and was unanimously adopted by the house after discussion. Malek Siddique Wali, Chartered Accountant Firm, was reappointed to audit the accounts of PDBL for the year 2019.
During the meeting, a thirteen-member board of directors of PDBL was formed.
The members of the board are: (1) CEO & Managing Director of Sonali Bank Limited, (2) Managing Director & CEO of Agrani Bank Limited, (3) CEO & Managing Director of Janata Bank Limited, (4) President & MD of AB Bank Limited, (5) Managing Director & CEO of Jamuna Bank Limited, (6) Managing Director & CEO of Mercantile Bank Limited, (7) Managing Director & CEO of Mutual Trust Bank, (8) Managing Director of National Bank Limited, (9) Managing Director & CEO of National Credit & Commerce Bank Limited, (10) Managing Director & CEO of Prime Bank Limited, (11) Managing Director of Southeast Bank Limited, (12) Managing Director & CEO of Uttara Bank Limited and (13) Managing Director & CEO of NRB Commercial Bank Limited.
