The country’s merchandise export to India reached $485.83 million in the first nine months of the current calendar year (2017).

The statistics, revealed by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), also showed that export to India stood at $154.88 million in the first quarter (July-September) of the current fiscal year (FY18).

Annual export to India amounted to $672.40 million in the past fiscal year (FY17).

Though India offers tariff-free market access to the Bangladesh, the exporters are facing series of non-tariff walls.

In the last month meeting of Bangladesh-India Joint-Working Group (JWG) on Trade in Dhaka, both the countries reaffirmed to review the issue and take necessary steps to address it.
