Almost 78 per cent of readymade garment workers of BGMEA member factories have received salary.
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association President Rubana Huq gave the information on Wednesday, reports UNB.
“Around 19,19,600 workers, out of 24,72,417, of BGMEA member factories received salary,” she said adding that the rest workers would get their wages within Thursday.
We are trying to pay all workers within April 20, Rubana said.
“We requested all banks to corporate with them during the coronavirus crisis. No worker will go without salary in March,” she said.
According to a source from BGMEA, a total 1,186 factories have been paid salary among 2,274 BGMEA member factories.
