32nd IPC discuss factors affecting publishing sector

This year’s congress of international publishers began on Saturday in the Indian capital of New Delhi with over 300 delegates from India and across the world.

The International Publishers Congress (IPC), which began in Hotel Taj Palace, includes award ceremony for the 2018 IPA Prix Voltaire. 

The three-day event will also feature a full programme of sessions covering issues affecting publishers and the publishing sector.

 The 32nd edition of the congress, titled “Shaping the future: innovation meets experience” was inaugurated by India’s Minister for Science and Technology Dr Harsh Vardhan and Minister for Commerce and Industry Mr Suresh Prabhu.  

Chairman of Omicon Publishing House, Bangladesh Engr Mehedi Hasan CEO and Managing Editor of Banglaprakash spoke on the occasion among other high-level speakers. 

The International Publishers Association (IPA) is the world’s largest federation of national, regional and specialist publishers’ associations, according to website.

 Its membership comprises of 70 organisations from 60 countries in Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe and the Americas.

The International Publishers Congress is held every two years.
