More than 3,000 new human haulers got registration across the country in the first 10 months of the ongoing calendar year.
During January-October period of 2017, Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) approved the registration of 3,077 new human haulers, according to the latest statistics released by the authority.
In the past year, some 3,487 new human haulers were pressed into service across the country.
BRTA data also showed that in Dhaka, only 196 new haulers got registration in January-October period of 2017 while the number totalled 787 in 2016.
It also showed that the number of registered human haulers in Bangladesh stood at 16,703 at the end of October this year while the number in Dhaka reached 5,141.
