Japan’s Tokyo stocks edged lower Thursday morning as investors secured profits after the benchmark Nikkei stock index's eight-day winning streak.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 32.07 points, or 0.13 per cent, from Wednesday to 24,001.72, reports Xinhua.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 6.08 points, or 0.33 per cent, at 1,815.59.
Oil and coal product, nonferrous metal and construction-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
