Two more insurers declare dividend

The board of two more insurance companies – Rupali Insurance and City General Insurance - have recommended dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2019.

Rupali Insurance: The board of directors of the company has recommended 10 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2019.

The annual general meeting (AGM) will be held on September 1 at 11:00 am through a digital platform.

The record date is August 6.

The company has also reported EPS of Tk. 1.75, NAV per share of Tk. 21.06 and NOCFPS of Tk. 0.24 for the year ended on December 31, 2019, as against Tk. 1.56 (restated), Tk. 19.87 and Tk. 1.15 (restated) respectively for the same period of the previous year.

The non-life insurer also disclosed first-quarter financial statement on Thursday. As per the Q1, its EPS was Tk. 0.48 for January-March 2020 as against Tk. 0.42 for January-March 2019.

Each share of the company, which was listed on the Dhaka bourse in 1995, closed at Tk 17.30 on Wednesday.

City General Insurance: The board of directors of the company has recommended 5.0 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2019.

The AGM will be held on September 16 at 11:00 am through a digital platform.

The record date is on August 6.

The company has also reported EPS of Tk. 1.01, NAV per share of Tk. 15.68 and NOCFPS of Tk. 0.66 for the year ended on December 31, 2019, as against Tk. 1.26, Tk. 15.55 and Tk. 0.49 respectively for the same period of the previous year.

The non-life insurer also disclosed the first-quarter financial statement on Thursday. As per the Q1, its EPS was Tk. 0.07 for January-March 2020 as against Tk. 0.33 for January-March 2019.

Each share of the company, which was listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2007, closed at Tk 14.20 on Wednesday.

There will be no price limit on the trading of the shares of these two companies today following its corporate declaration, however, as per the BSEC Order dated March 19, 2020, the floor price shall be applicable accordingly.
