Two more general insurers declare dividend

The boards of directors of two more general insurance companies have recommended dividends for the year ended on December 31, 2019, according to separate official disclosures on Wednesday.

The companies are Northern Islami Insurance and Mercantile Insurance Company.

Northern Islami Insurance: The board of directors of the company has recommended a 10 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2019.

The annual general meeting will be held on September 21 at 4:00pm through digital platform as per BSEC Order.

The record date is August 13.

The company has also reported EPS of Tk 1.72, NAV per share of Tk. 19.49 and NOCFPS of Tk. 3.27 for the year ended on December 31, 2019 as against Tk. 1.65, Tk. 18.77 and Tk. 1.33 respectively for the same period of the previous year.

There will be no price limit on the trading of the shares of the Company today (Wednesday) following its corporate declaration; however, as per the BSEC Order dated March 19, 2020, the floor price shall be applicable accordingly.

Each share of the company, which was listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2004, closed at Tk 26 on Tuesday.

Mercantile Insurance: The board of directors of Mercantile Insurance has recommended 7.0 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2019.

The AGM will be held on September 27 at 11:00am through digital platform.

The record date is August 16.

The company has also reported EPS of Tk. 1.43, NAV per share of Tk. 18.27 and NOCFPS of Tk. 1.02 for the year ended on December 31, 2019 as against Tk. 1.11, Tk. 17.93 and Tk. 0.97 respectively for the same period of the previous year.

There will be no price limit on the trading of the shares of the Company today following its corporate declaration; however, as per the BSEC Order dated March 19, 2020, the floor price shall be applicable accordingly.

Each share of the company, which was listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange in 2008, closed at Tk 21.10 on Tuesday.
