Trading and official activities of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will resume tomorrow (Sunday) after a nine-day Eid vacation.
The trading on the bourses will begin at 10:30am and continue until 2:30pm as usual and the office hours are from 9:30am to 5:30pm.
The nine-day vacation that began on May 31 on the occasion of Eid-ul Fitr included weekly and special holidays.
Meanwhile, the DSE performed well on May 30, the last trading session before the Eid vacation, as investors showed their appetite for stocks amid high post-Eid expectations.
Market analysts said stocks kept gaining for the fourth straight session as investors anticipated that the upcoming budget would extend incentives for the capital market.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal is set to place the national budget for fiscal year (FY) 2019-20 on June 13.
On May 30, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 23.54 points or 0.44 per cent to settle at 5,377.
Turnover, another important indicator of the market, also rose to Tk 4.25 billion on May 30, up 28 per cent from Tk 3.33 billion on May 29.
The port city's bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange, also ended higher on May 30 with its CSE All Share Price Index - CASPI -advancing 37 points to settle at 16,375 and the Selective Categories Index - CSCX -gaining 23 points to finish at 9,917.
The port city bourse traded 10.20 million shares and mutual fund units worth Tk 420 million in turnover on May 30.
