Ten most-traded firms captured 23 per cent transaction of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Monday while United Power topped the list.
Market analysts said investors were active on United Power Generation & Distribution Company's shares throughout the session amid positive expectation ahead of June closing.
According to statistics available with the DSE, about 477,779 shares of United Power were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 176 million, which was 3.28 per cent of the day's total turnover.
The total turnover on the DSE stood at Tk 5.35 billion on Monday against Tk 5.34 billion in the previous session.
The power generation company's share closed at Tk 361.60 on Monday, losing 2.0 per cent over the previous day.
The company's share traded between Tk 242.50 and Tk 422.50 in the last one year.
The company's consolidated earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk 5.19 for January-March 2019 which was Tk 2.40 (separate) for January-March 2018.
The consolidated EPS was Tk 12.88 for July 2018-March 2019 which was Tk 7.01 (separate) for July 2017-March 2018.
The consolidated net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) was Tk 10.52 for July 2018-March 2019 which was Tk 6.67 (separate) for July 2017-March 2018.
The consolidated net asset value (NAV) per share was Tk 66.29 as on March 31, 2019 and Tk 34.00 (separate) as on June 30, 2018.
United Power, which was listed on the DSE in April 2015, disbursed 90 per cent cash and 20 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2018.
The company's paid-up capital is Tk 4.79 billion, authorised capital is Tk 8.0 billion and the total number of securities is 479.08 million.
The sponsor-directors own 90 per cent stake in the company, while institutions own 6.64 per cent, foreign investors 0.04 per cent and the general public 3.32 per cent as of May 31, 2019, the DSE data shows.
Monno Ceramic followed next, with shares worth Tk 146 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 232.60, gaining 5.34 per cent.
New Line Clothings clinched the third spot, with shares worth Tk 141 million changing hands. The recently listed company's share rose 2.44 per cent to close at Tk 25.20 each.
Dragon Sweater emerged fourth with shares worth Tk 124 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 20.60 each, soaring 7.29 per cent.
Silco Pharma notched the fifth spot, with shares worth Tk 117 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 26.30, losing 1.12 per cent.
The turnover of Square Pharma was Tk 111 million. The company's share price fell 0.43 per cent to close at Tk 254.10 each.
JMI Syringes featured a turnover of Tk 108 million. The company's share price fell 3.30 per cent to close at Tk 448.30 each.
The turnover of Legacy Footwear was Tk 99 million. The company's share closed at Tk 139.10 each, advancing 0.36 per cent.
